The Grading Criteria

This is the Grading Criteria that I use when grading films:

A: An Absolute Masterpiece
A—: Not quite a masterpiece, but still an extraordinary attainment that deserves considerable reverence
B+: A rock solid motion picture, even if it though can’t quite grasp itself into A—, A territory
B:
Though the movie is far from achieving greatness, the high points easily outnumber the low marks
B—: Even for all its major flaws, it manages to pull off much more then we would expect
C+: It's nowhere near bad and is still worth mentioning, even as the defects and errors inflict a heavy toll.
C: The decisively average flick where the ups and downs are measured in almost equal doses.  A mixed bag.
C—: Certainly on the verge of collapse, but there are still a few agreeable things here and there
D+: Most everything about the film was poor just enough to make it this low on the scale
D: There’s practically no moral standard involved at all
D—:  Well, maybe not quite a failure…
F: An Absolute Failure
