Directed by: Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh
Grade: C+
Act of Valor: an honorable salute to the United States Navy SEALS; watching Act of Valor visually gives you a whole new level of respect for the SEALS (the action scenes are executed at top-notch level. It’s incredible what these guys can do, and it’s brought to a more realistic level in the film considering the movie used real life SEALs and live ammunition). Unfortunately, Act of Valor also struggles to find distinction between its characters, and resorts to cliché sentimentality a little too soon. This could have (and should have) been a clear-cut winner. Ultimately, a film that's worthy of both appreciation and dissatisfaction. C+
