Grade: C—
Do today’s heroes get anymore humorless or characterless then Costner in the Bodyguard? Here’s a promising premise that gets drowned in the rest of the film’s shapeless and plot-less narrative. Filled with the overused Hollywood elements of unjust introductory sequences, so-called unexpected romance, a protagonist going through his own problems, a closing shootout, and a conclusion that leads nowhere special, the Bodyguard would be total trash had its stars not been so appealing and the premise not filled with potential.
