I view the job of my Significant Films list isn't any different from any other list of the greatest movies. It's a simple, matter of the fact, listing of movies that an individual loves so much as to make them recommended to other people. Sometimes, we watch movies that come recommended in that way so much, as to that we expect to put them on our own list of great movies. Other times, we don't find that particular movie on a list of great films, but we nevertheless love it so much we must include it into our list of favorite films.
The Sting falls into the second category; I originally didn't plan into expecting much from it, despite the fact that it had received very good reviews and won the Best Picture Oscar, but it didn't look all that entertaining. I could never have been so mistaken!
The Sting is a very clever movie, an outstanding one at that, one which was so entertaining, it couldn't have been any better! There are moments of wonderful acting, brilliant suspense, hilarious comedy and compelling drama. So I practically fell in love with this movie, something which I never suspected I would have; the Sting is fashionable entertainment at entertainment's best, and stands as the ultimate caper film.
